The Nissan Aura NISMO RS Concept was the first to capture the attention on the floor of the 2026 Tokyo Auto Salon. This is partly because to its aggressive appearance; after all, it is based on an existing Aura NISMO that has been turned up to 11.
The chassis has been modified, with the body now 145mm wider, giving it a more planted appearance, and the length extended by 142mm, which has significantly affected the overall design. To emphasize, the ride height has been reduced by 20mm, which not only looks fantastic but also lowers the center of gravity slightly. So the thing now measures 4,262mm long, 1,880mm wide, and 1,485mm tall, with a wheelbase that remains unchanged at 2,580 mm but an increase in weight of 100kg to 1,490 kg. However, all of this increased heft appears to have been carefully handled through a variety of different modifications.

The way they employed aerodynamics to shape the outside of the car resulted in an intentional design, with a front spoiler, side skirts, rear diffuser, altered front fenders, side air splitters, and a rear spoiler to ensure downforce is generated while minimizing drag. The NISMO emblem is highlighted with red accents, and what a wonderful extra touch is that the entire item is finished in a special Dark Matte NISMO Stealth Gray finish that, despite its strange name, looks exactly the same under varied lighting circumstances.
Under the hood is the same old e-POWER system derived from the X-Trail NISMO. The 1.5 liter turbo three cylinder engine (KR15DDT, 106kW / 142 hp, 250 Nm) is only used to charge the battery, which powers two electric motors. The front motor produces 150 kW (201 horsepower) and 330 Nm, while the rear motor adds 100 kW (134 hp) and 195 Nm to the mix. The overall system output is around 211 horsepower, with torque of about 387 lb-ft (525 Nm) channeled through NISMO adjusted e-4ORCE all-wheel control to keep things snappy in bends.
The brakes have also received the same upgrade treatment as the rest of the vehicle. Large oppossed-piston calipers grip up front, with four pots and two in the back, allowing you to stop with greater confidence than you might expect given the added weight. The suspension remains a front independent strut arrangement with a rear torsion beam, but it has been fine-tuned to perform better on straights and tight corners. Finishing it off are 18-inch NISMO LM GT4 wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 245/45R18 tyres, providing a sturdy base for putting everything to the test.
