We know the 2023 Nissan Leaf S comes equipped with a 40-kWh lithium-ion battery as well as a 110-kW electric motor making 147 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque, but is it enough to take on a fighter jet? Nissan wanted to find out so they pit the EV against the jet in an extreme drag racing showdown.
Now the 2023 Leaf SV Plus sports a 60-kWh lithium-ion battery, paired with a powerful 160-kW electric motor that produces 214 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque. It isn’t entirely clear which model is racing the fighter jet, but as you can see, it was a close race all the way through. With that said, it would be interesting to see other EVs take on a fighter jet, especially the Rimac Nevera.
