Automotive designer Jeroen Claus’s Polestar 1:1 concept is essentially an electric single-seat supercar that aims to bridge the gap between the physical and digital dimensions. Rather than a traditional windscreen and instrument cluster, there’s a high-tech widescreen dashboard that shows all the information a driver would need.

Why the 1:1 name? Well, that refers to its power-to-weight ratio measured in kilowatts rather than horsepower. A special helmet equipped with a heads-up display can also be used to project information, such as the current speed or upcoming turns. Thanks to its flax fiber construction, it is lighter than its competitors, making the EV perfect for track days.

Performance has been given a broader meaning. Mobility and car culture, in particular, is central to this monumental shift. For some, cars are the cause of much that is going wrong in this world. For others, however, cars stand for something more. It is the quest for the intangible, the thrill of all our senses aligning in one breathtaking moment,’ said Claus.
