Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 ePerformance
The Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 ePerformance is basically an all-electric race car designed for the track. It’s powered by a permanently excited synchronous machine (PESM) on the front and rear axles, which makes it all-wheel-drive and can deliver a peak output of up to 1,073 hp. What really makes this vehicle special is that 6,000 parts were designed from scratch, while the body is made from natural fiber composite materials.

Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on if we’ll see a production version of this vehicle, but for those interested inthe 718 Cayman GT4 ePerformance. it’s setting off on a world tour with support from seven partners. To start, it will make an appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed from June 23-26, 2022 and take part in the 1.9-kilometre hill-climb event. If you can’t make that event, it will be stationed at the Porsche factory in Leipzig on August 20, 2022 to celebrate factory’s 20th anniversary.

With the Mission R, we’ve shown how Porsche envisages sustainable customer motor racing in the future. The 718 Cayman GT4 ePerformance now demonstrates that this vision works impressively on the racetrack. We’re very excited about the response because a one-make cup with electric racing cars would be an important addition to our existing customer racing program,” said Matthias Scholz, GT racing vehicle project manager.
