Joey Ruiter Consumer Car
Believe it or not, Michigan-based designer Joey Ruiter’s “Consumer Car” is actually based on a 1993 Ford Festiva GL chassis and not something built for a science fiction movie. Despite how it looks, this vehicle is road-legal in some states with required lighting, passenger restraints, and a rear-mounted license plate frame. It’s powered by a Mazda-sourced “B3” 1.3L inline-4 engine producing 63 hp and 73 lb-ft of torque, pared with a 5-speed manual transmission.

McLaren Can-Am Homage
For those who don’t follow McLaren, the M8A was essentially a race car developed by driver Bruce McLaren and his racing team for their entry in 1968 Can-Am season. The M8A was the vehicle that started it all and its following successors dominated Can-Am racing for four consecutive racing seasons, until the arrival of the Porsche 917. To pay tribute, industrial designer Yosuke Yamada came up with the McLaren Can-Am Homage.

Lamborghini E.V.E. Countach

The timeless Lamborghini Countach is a rear mid-engine, rear-wheel-drive supercar manufactured from 1974 to 1990, one of the many legendary vehicles designed by Italy-based Bertone, which pioneered and popularized the sharply angled “Italian Wedge” shape. A total of 1,983-vehicles were produced and although there were some design changes, the shape remained relatively the same. Industrial designer Khyzyl Saleem changes that with his E.V.E. Countach concept.

Samsung Galaxy Stick

Samsung has not only released several smartphones with advanced display technologies, like the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip, but they’re still developing new ones. Designer Pranab P Kumar gives us a preview of one such device, called the Galaxy Stick, and it has a slide-out OLED display. When not in use, the display is hidden inside the mobile phone’s frame and at the push of a button, it slides out. There’s a smaller secondary touchscreen for notifications and the fingerprint scanner.

Firenze Lanciare Flying Supercar
Created by designer Greg Brown, the Firenze Lanciare just might be the world’s first flying supercar concept that is actually plausible, or so we think. Boasting retractable wings extended, it’s powered by two Williams FJ-33 jet engines producing 2,000 pounds when in the air, enabling it to cruise at 520 mph and a range of 850 miles, thanks to a 300-gallon fuel tank. When on land, the vehicle utilizes two electric motors that generate a combined 1,000 horsepower, which means a 0-60 mph time of under four seconds.
