Ripsaw M5 RCV Tank
Howe & Howe Technologies, best known for their Ripsaw luxury sports tank featured in Fast & Furious, was recently acquired by defense contractor Textron Systems, but things haven’t changed much at all. Textron teamed up with FLIR Systems to build Ripsaw M5 RCV (Robotic Combat Vehicle), a remote-controlled, unmanned tank with a high-tech 360° thermal and camera imaging capabilities.

Militarized Ford Ranger
Ricardo UK is best known for their cost-effective special vehicles for the world’s armed forces, whether it be bespoke concepts or an adaptation of existing automotive platforms, they ensure it meets the required in-field serviceability. Their latest project militarizes the Ford Ranger, and can be equipped with a 2.0-litre EcoBlue Bi-turbo diesel powertrain generating 210-horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, mated to an advanced new 10-speed automatic transmission.

Largest 3D Printer Barracks Marines
The Marine Corps Automated Construction of Expeditionary Structures (MCSC) initiative partnered with the I Marine Expeditionary Force to create a 512-square-foot “B-Hut” in 40 hours using the world’s largest 3D printer at the US Army Engineer Research and Development Center in Champaign, Illinois. The first thing you’ll notice is its rectangular design with cut outs for windows, but zig-zagging walls, and that’s because printing them like this makes the structure 2.5-times stronger than a typical reinforced concrete wall.
