Early last year, Xiaomi filed a patent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for an ‘electronic device’, and this filing was just uncovered on April 29, 2021. The sketches from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) give us a look at what appears to be a modular smartphone of sorts.

Xiaomi announces the global release of Mi 11, the company’s latest flagship smartphone, and it’s a doozy. Featuring a 6.81-inch AMOLED quad-curve DotDisplay with True Color + 120 Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, a triple rear camera system (108MP main, 13MP ultra-wide, 5MP telemacro), a 20MP front-facing selfie camera built into the display, 8GB of 3,200MHz LPDDR5 RAM, 128GB of internal storage, and a 4,600mAh battery with 50W wireless fast charging.

Even with all the power bank options out there, sometimes, you just want to quickly recharge your smartphone. Xiaomi introduces its 80W Mi Wireless Charging Technology that will allow you to do just that. Just how fast is it? It can power up a 4,000 mAh battery to 10% in 1 minute, 50% in 8 minutes and 100% in just 19 minutes. The iPhone 12 Pro has a 2,775mAh battery, so if it was compatible with Xiaomi’s technology, the handset could be fully charged in possibly just 15 minutes or less.

One thing many smartphones still have are unsightly notches, but Xiaomi will definitely change that in the near future. This week they unveiled their third-generation under-display camera technology, and it’s better than ever. Users will now be able to experience the front display in its entirety, thanks to a custom pixel arrangement and optimized camera algorithm that offer the same performance as normal selfie cameras.

Xiaomi may not be known for electric transporters, but the Ninebot GoKart Pro Lamborghini Edition is most certainly a sleek exception. Aesthetically, it’s modeled after the famous Italian supercars, complete with a rear wing, racing wheel, all finished in Giallo Orion. A high-strength steel frame was used (100kg / 220lb weight limit) for improved torque rigidity and to withstand road impacts.
