White Motorcycle Concepts has just unveiled the WMC300FR, a 3-wheeled hybrid police scooter based on the Yamaha Tricity 300. This leaning trike is powered by a Yamaha 292cc single-cylinder engine paired with a 5kW (6.7hp) motor that draws power from two small, 56-V, 12-Ah batteries.
Unlike a traditional scooter, this one has a central duct that channels air straight through the body, right between the rider’s legs and out the rear. This duct was designed to reduce the coefficient of drag, and its three-wheeled layout makes it perfect for the system since it slots in the middle of the wheels.
- Sturdy & Powerful: Dual 400W motors, max speed 12.5 mph, range 22 miles, max load 220 lbs.
- Safety & Comfort: Smart Battery Management System ensures safety, extends battery life. Knee control bar for precise steering, easy lifting. 11" pneumatic tires for smooth rides on bumpy roads.
- Remote Control & Auto-Follow Mode: Use handle or joystick on multi-functional remote to control device. Activate follow mode for hands-free operation.
As the national Police chief lead for motorcycling, it is incredible to have been involved in this project from the off, incorporating what we needed in a first responder vehicle. One of the things that I was really clear on in our initial discussions was that the motorcycle should have presence and stand out in our community Policing, provide accessibility to officers and be reflective of the professionalism of the police service, the WMC300FR ticks all those boxes. I think that introducing the WMC300FR will make a real difference and I know that this will be welcomed by the police service,” said Nick Adderley, Northants Police Chief Constable & UK Police lead for Motorcycles.
