Professional race car driver Christian Gebhardt was fortunate enough to get behind the wheel of a Porsche 911 Dakar at the famed Nurburgring Nordschleife and decided to go beyond the track limits. This off-road supercar is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0L flat-six engine making 473 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque, mated to an 8-speed Porsche PDK gearbox.
Thanks to its lifted suspension, it was able to go safely off the track, setting a lap time of 7 minutes and 39.4 seconds. Compared to the 911 GT3 RS, which finished in 6 minutes and 54.9 second and a GT3 equipped with the Manthey Performance Kit, it is quite a bit slower. However, it’s safe to say that this lap in the 911 Dakar was far more exhilarating.
