We all know that tri-motor Tesla Model S Plaid with 1,020 hp is fast, but how does it fare against a heavily modified Corvette C8? CarWow wanted to find out, so they pit bot vehicles against each other in a drag racing showdown.
The 3,900-pound Corvette C8 has a heavily modified twin-turbocharged 6.2L V8 engine making 1,200 hp and 1,100 lb-ft of torque, mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, enabling it to hit 60 mph in possibly under 2-seconds. As for how much all of these mods cost, around $80,000 USD, so if you factor in the vehicle itself, that brings the total up to around $177,000. A Tesla Model S Plaid from the factory will set you back around half that, or $89,990. When all is said and done, you’ll realize that more power doesn’t always mean the vehicle is faster.
