Germany’s Apollo has never sought the limelight like Ferrari or Lamborghini. But with the EVO, a track-only hypercar limited to 10 units, the brand is writing its name into the asphalt with a 6.3-liter V12 that screams 800 horsepower. This is the spiritual successor to the 2017 Intensa Emozione and arrives just in time to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Gumpert Apollo – a car that once held the Nürburgring’s production car lap record in 2009.
The naturally aspirated 6.3-liter V12 produces 800 horsepower and 564 lb-ft of torque – numbers that feel almost old-school in a world of hybrid hypercars. That power goes to the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential gearbox designed for lightning quick shifts that keep you glued to the action. Weighing just 2,866 pounds the EVO goes from 0-62mph in 2.7 seconds and doesn’t stop until it hits 208mph. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires grip the track, forged aluminum wheels and carbon ceramic brakes ensure the car can stop as hard as it goes.

A carbon fiber monocoque forms the EVO’s backbone, weighing in at just 364 pounds – lighter than the V12 itself. This is 15% stiffer than the one in the Intensa Emozione, giving the car a razor sharp edge on the track. Carbon fiber doesn’t stop at the monocoque; the front and rear subframes are also made from the same material, shaving weight and boosting rigidity.

Visually the EVO’s aero fins rise from the rear like the spines of some mythical creature, glowing with LED lighting that blends into the 3D printed titanium exhaust. The bodywork is all sharp angles and flowing curves – like someone who dreamed of dragons and starships. Inside the cabin will feature more 3D printed materials but Apollo are keeping the full reveal under wraps for now. Even without seeing it you can sense the interior will be as purposeful as the exterior – built for drivers who want to feel every pulse of the track.

Price TBA, but with only 10 units, it’s not about the price, it’s about the prestige. Apollo have not yet confirmed if all are sold, but I wouldn’t bet on it.
