Designed by Ben Callery Architects, the Elemental House is a minimalist living space nestled in the hilltops of Melbourne, which is also the most populous state of Victoria. Since this area has a temperate oceanic climate with warm to hot summers and cool winters, the design of this home keeps things simple, with just a single bedroom, one bathroom, kitchen and a living area.

However, the main attraction is the breathtaking 360° views of Melbourne’s rolling high desert hills, thanks to panoramic windows as well as its compact 10 x 10-meter footprint. There isn’t much around, so it’s fully self-sustainable, complete with its own power-generating methods, rainwater gathering system, and even its own waste treatment methods. Think of this as more of a weekend getaway than a home you live in year-round.
