F1 champion Max Verstappen recently got behind the wheel of an all-new 2023 Honda Civic Type R and drove it to its limit at Hungary’s Euro-Ring Circuit. This model is Honda’s most powerful version yet, featuring a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine generating 315 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
It also boasts a larger grille opening, bigger radiator and a new large-diameter fan improve engine cooling to ensure sustained, optimal performance during extreme driving. Inside, you’ll find the Type R’s iconic red seats, a redesigned aluminum shift knob, and a serialized Type R plate on the dashboard. The also driver sits lower than previous models, thanks to a lighter, body-stabilizing sport seat. On the technology side, it includes a 9-inch color touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay / Android Auto compatibility, Qi-compatible wireless charging and a Bose Centerpoint premium sound system.
