Insta360 partnered with Deep Sea Guardians to raise awareness of ocean conservation and shark protection. Dive instructor Logan Kanan wanted to do his part and that involved using an Insta360 X3 action camera encapsulated in an X3 Dive Case to get up-close with hammerhead sharks.
Non-profit Deep Sea Guardians wants to change perceptions about sharks and what better way than by filming the inside of a hammerhead shark’s mouth? This was made possible by mounting an X3 to the main camera housing for third-person footage, while another camera was attached onto the arm with a ball mount for more viewing angles. The 360-degree action cameras allowed the team to shoot a super wide field of view to record every interaction with the sharks.
- 360 CAPTURE & REFRAMING: X3 captures 5.7K 360 Active HDR video, so you'll never miss the action. Choose your favorite angle after the fact with easy reframing tools in the AI-powered Insta360 app.
- DUAL 1/2" 48MP SENSORS: X3's new sensors pack in more pixels for greater clarity and detail, even in low light. Capture 72MP photos, 8K timelapses and more.
- 4K SINGLE-LENS MODE: Select a lens to shoot wide-angle footage just like a single-lens action cam. Get maximum resolution with 4K30fps or an extremely wide 170° field of view with 2.7K MaxView. Your first-person view footage has never looked so good.
Despite being on the absolute top of the food chain, we can still get out there and safely dive and interact with them. Without images, the oceans would be slowly dying without anyone noticing,” said Zimy Da Kid, Founder of Deep Sea Guardians.
