Karma Eximius 1 Hybrid PHEV
Karma Automotive just rolled out something few expected from the brand that kept the old Fisker Karma alive under new names. The Eximius 1 is the first car from its new Eximius program, a one-of-one built for a single client who already owned a Revero and asked for something far more extreme. Revealed at the Concours at Wynn in Las Vegas, this four-seat machine is still being finished with its buyer and is due for delivery in 2027.

At the center of the project is a 6.2-liter V8 engine, which replaces the Revero’s modest three-cylinder generator. By combining this new power unit with the existing plug-in series hybrid system, they were able to generate about 1,200 horsepower, with a significant portion coming from the gasoline engine and approximately 650 from the battery and motors. According to Karma, it will accelerate from 0 to 60 in 2.7 seconds and continue until it reaches over 200 mph. Carbon-ceramic brakes with two-piece slotted rotors and Öhlins semi-active dampers are installed to handle the load on the braking system, while 21-inch magnesium center lock wheels reduce unsprung weight.

The expanded wheel arches have increased the body width by about two inches. Almost every panel is comprised of pre-impregnated carbon fiber. A pretty nice-looking Borealis Blue paint fades in and out of the visible carbon weave on the doors and hood, creating a true eye-catcher that changes depending on the lighting. A large front splitter, gaping intakes with a rotated LED light setup that creates a crisp little arrow graphic, fender vents, side skirts with fins, a giant rear diffuser, and a fantastic full-width GT wing make the car’s track ambitions quite clear. Meanwhile, a white branding with a “5” on the side is extremely special for this client.

The interior has four Recaro carbon fiber bucket seats wrapped in blue Alcantara and Italian leather, as well as some stunning Moondust Alcantara accents. Blue carbon wraps around the steering wheel, doors, dashboard, and center console. The center console has been stripped down to its minimal essentials: a gear selector, window switches, a key holder, and a bright red kill switch that can rescue the day if necessary. Billet aluminum pedals lay beneath you, and a unique carbon racing helmet is stored snuggly in the rear, ready to be thrown on.

The entire Eximius package is limited to only 9 automobiles each production run, thus each one is custom-built for the client. They can collaborate with Karma’s design and engineering teams to experiment with bodywork, powertrain, and performance components, seeing how far they can push it. The Eximius 1 car they created demonstrates how far this technique can go: take that basic California hybrid, add a V8, broaden it, throw a GT wing on it, and you’ve got a seriously fast four-seater.
