The Lotus Evija X probably isn’t the first vehicle that comes to mind when you think of Nürburgring lap records, but this one-off electric hypercar managed to set one. More specifically, completing a 6:24.047 lap using the same chassis as its production counterpart.
For comparison, the blazing quick Volkswagen ID.R achieved a 6:05 lap while the Porsche 919 Hybrid EVO clocked a yet to be beaten 5:19. This carbon fiber hypercar is powered by four electric motors generating a combined 2,011 horsepower and 1,257 pound-feet, all of which draw power from a 70-kWh battery pack mounted behind the seats. The $2.3-million road going version is in production now, and limited to 130-units worldwide.
