Sriracha Vending Machine

Sriracha sauce by Huy Fong Foods is typically easy to find in US supermarkets, but that is not the case in Japan…until now. Special vending machines that dispense nothing but Sriracha Japan sauce have started appearing all over Japan, and a small bottle will cost you around $4.20 USD (¥600).

After putting in the money, a small clear tube is dispensed containing the Sriracha Japan sauce, along with a promotional sheet of paper. What does the reading material contain? Well, you get lots of recipe suggestions, including adding the sauce into miso soup, or just mixing it with ketchup / mayonnaise to create a dip. Unfortunately, Huy Fong Foods has paused production of its official Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce due to a severe shortage of chili peppers.
