We know the $230,000+ Porsche 911 Turbo S is fast, but can it beat the Tesla Cybertruck in a drag race? The guys over at Throttle House wanted to find out so they pit the EV and supercar against each other in a drag racing showdown.
First up, the 2024 Porsche 911 Turbo S is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.7L flat-six engine producing 640 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque, mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, enabling it to hit 60 mph in a mere 2.2 seconds. Next, the tri-motor Tesla Cybertruck makes 845 hp, but the vehicle itself weighs in at a hefty 6,843 pounds. Let’s just say that the two vehicles were neck-and-neck at times, despite their weight and power differences.

The Cybertruck has the EV-torque launch advantage – even against the spring-loaded 911 Turbo S – but has all the aerodynamics of a kitchen appliance. The Porsche should hope to bring the speed later down the strip, and make up lost ground from the launch,” said Throttle House.
